The Website refers to the Database and Digital Platform (the DDP) of the research project Lebanon’s Art World at Home and Abroad (LAWHA), funded by the ERC under grant agreement 850760. The DDP serves as a documentation and recording of Lebanon’s art history in its local, regional and global context, and is available on an open and non-commercial basis, unrestricted and free of charge. The LAWHA team may revise these Terms of Use from time to time; you are responsible for checking this page when you visit the Website.

The Website contains digital surrogates of items and material of relevance to LAWHA, such as biographical data of artists and people connected to the art world, educational and professional information, artworks, information on artworks and exhibitions, networks,photographs, and ephemera.

 

PERMITTED USES

Unless otherwise stated, the DDP and its content can be used by public users for non-commercial, scholarly, and educational uses. The digital surrogates accessible on the DDP are for your personal and/or educational use/reference. You must give credit to the respective copyright owner(s) and acknowledge LAWHA for making the material accessible.

For high resolution images for academic publications and other non-commercial purposes, you should contact the holding institution or the copyright holder.

In working towards a knowledge community, LAWHA would appreciate to be notified about any publication that includes data extracted from the digital surrogates provided by the DDP. This will expand the artists and artworks related publication list in the DDP, and it helps sharing the growing knowledge production about art with the respective artists and/or their families who provide the items.

Although the data provided by the Website is publicly accessible, the items and their digital surrogates included in the DDP are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights, and can only be reproduced with the permission of the copyright holder unless otherwise stated.
